بھول جانے سے زند ہ لوگ بھی
ایک طرح سے مر جاتے ہیں مگر
یاد کرنے سے مرے ہوئے
بھی اندر ہی اندر زندہ رہتے ہیں

Even people who live in oblivion

They die in a way

Dead to remember

They also live inside

جب رب راضی ہونے لگتا ہے
تو بندے کو اپنے عیبوں کا پتہ چلنا
شروع ہو جاتا ہے اور یہی اُس کی
رحمت کی پہلی نشانی ہوتی ہے

When the Lord begins to agree

You complain to Allah

 ایک لقمہ پیٹ تک پہنچا نے کا قدرت نے کتنا انتظام کیا ہے

کہ گرم ہے تو ہاتھ بتا دیتے ہیں ، سخت ہے تو دانت بتا دیتے ہیں

کڑوایا ترش ہے تو زبان بتا دیتی ہے اور اگر باسی ہے تو ناک بتا دیتی ہے

بس حرام ہے ، یا حلا ل یہ فیصلہ ہمیں کر نا ہے

How much nature has managed to deliver a morsel to the stomach

If it is hot, the hands will tell, if it is hard, the teeth will tell

If bitter is acrid, then the tongue will tell and if it is stale, then the nose will tell

It is not for us to decide whether it is haram or halal

جس دن تمہیں یہ معلو م ہو جائے گا
کہ جو کام تمہاری مرضی سے نہیں ہوتے
وہ تمہارے لیے کتنے بہتر ہو تے ہیں
اس دن تمہاری بے سکونی ختم ہو جائے گی

The day you will know this

That which is not done by your will

How much better they are for you

On that day your restlessness will end

میر ی زند گی میں آنے والے تمام

گھٹیا لوگوں کا بھی شکر یہ جن سے میں

نے یہ سیکھا کہ مجھے ان جیسا نہیں بننا

All who come into my life

I am grateful to even the meanest people

I learned not to be like them

یہ دُنیا بھی عجیب ہی ہے
یہاں جو ٹیڑ ھا ہو ۔اُسے چھو ڑدیا جاتا ہے
اور جو سید ھا ہو ، اُسے ٹھوک دیا جا تا ہے۔

This world is also strange

Here, whatever is wrong is removed

And whoever is honest, he is spit on

Seek refuge from that poverty

Which is frustrating

Seek refuge from that wealth too

Which makes you proud

جب مشکل وقت آتا ہے تو
ہم اپنوں کوتلا ش کرتے ہیں
لیکن جن کو تلاش کرنا پڑے
وہ اپنے نہیں ہوتے

When times get tough

We search for ourselves

But those who have to find

They are not their own

اس سے کوئی فرق نہیں پڑتا کہ تم کنتا
آہستہ آگے پڑھ رہے ہو، ناکامی تب
آتی ہے جب تم رک جاتے ہو

It doesn't matter if you cry

Reading forward slowly, failure then

It comes when you stop

لوگ اکثر نرم لہجوں سے
کتنی سخت بات کرجا تے ہیں
کہ ان کے لفظوں کی تپش بھو لنے
میں اک عمر لگ جاتی ہے

سیکھا جو زمانے کا طرز کلا م میں نے
زمانہ ہی چلا اٹھا کتنے بد زبان ہو تم

I learned the style of the times
How bad language you are

زبان کڑوی ہی سہی   مگر دل صاف رکھتی ہوں
کب کون کیسے بد لے گا       سب حساب رکھتی ہوں

My tongue is bitter but my heart is pure

When, who, how, will take evil, I will keep everything in mind

بحث کے دوران جب کسی کاراز فاشق ہونے کاڈر ہو تو اپنی
ہارمان لو کہ بحث میں تم پھر کبھی جیت جاو گے
مگر راز خدا کی اور لوگوں کی امانت ہو تے ہیں
اعتبار ہاردیا تو کبھی کچھ جیت نہ پاو گے

During the discussion, when someone is ready to be exposed, do it yourself

Remember that you will never win an argument again

But secrets are the trust of God and people

If you lose trust, you will never win anything

کسی کو کمز ور اور حقیر نہ سمجھو
کیو نکہ راستے میں چھو ٹا سا پتھر بھی

Why not even a small stone on the way

You may fall flat on your face

آسمان والے سے
رابطے مضبو ط ہوں تو
زمین والے آپ کا کچھ نہیں بگا ڑ سکتے

From heaven

If the connections are strong

Earthlings cannot spoil you

کسی نے پوچھا
اس دنیا میں آپ کا اپنا کون ہے
میں نے ہنس کر کہا
وقت اچھا ہو تو سب اپنے ورنہ کوئی نہیں

تین جیز یں انسا ن کو تباہ
کر دیتی ہیں
حرص   حسد   غم

Three jeez destroy man

They do

Greed, envy, grief

موت بر حق ہی۔ جان کی حفا ظت
کر نا بھی فرض ہے احتیاط کریں
دل چھو ٹا نہ کریں ۔ استغفار کریں
اور اپنے ربّ دے مانگ کرچلیں
اُسکی ذات کبھی بھی اکیلا نہیں چھو ڑتی

Death is right. Protection of life

It is obligatory to be careful

Don't lose heart. Ask for forgiveness

And ask your Lord

His soul never leaves alone

دُنیا کی فکر مت کرو۔۔۔
کوئی قبر میں آکر تمہارا حساب نہیں دے گا
اس لیے لوگوں کو بُرا کرنا اور سو چنا چھو ڑ دیں
اپنے لیے سو چیں

Don't worry about the world.

No one will come to the grave and give an account of you

So stop badmouthing people and so choose

Sleep for yourself

موت ایک کھلا راز ہے
کھلا اس لیے کہ ہر شخص جانتا
کے کہ موت بہرحال آنی ہے
اور راز اس لیے کہ کوئی نہیں جانتا
کہ کب ، کہاں اور کیسے

Death is an open secret

Open so that everyone knows

That death has to come anyway

And secrets because no one knows

When, where and how
